Letter To Parents

Dear Parents,

Enclosed is a permission form for your daughter to go to China this July 11^th-July 14^th. This is an annual trip that the school has been doing for several years. This year is a bit different because they have finally included the English section students. This trip has always been organized and reserved for those students who have shown that they are responsible and mature in and out of school.

Our Girl’s basketball team has been chosen this year as the first English section students to be included in this kind of trip. This is a great honour for our team because it proves that we are moving in the proper direction with the full support of our school. We have become the pinnacle of sports in our school.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your daughter for many reasons.

Firstly, it is a chance for them to experience a trip to China in a very safe environment. There are fourteen teachers going including the Principal Mr. Tsui.

They will be involved in a multitude of activities including a cultural dance, leadership activities, a visit to a Chinese family and learning about Chinese culture, visiting one of most famous mountain regions in China. So in short this is a wonderful cultural experience for our team and your daughter.

Secondly, we have two basketball games scheduled. This is a great opportunity for our team and your daughter to play basketball and demonstrate her hard work and determination that she has shown all year. This is also a good opportunity for our team to demonstrate our knowledge and sportsmanship.

The girls will be staying in a three star hotel with a teacher on duty all the time. The trip is paid for. There is no need for them to bring any money except if they want to buy a souvenir or some sweets. I recommend that they bring 200-300 dollars as pocket money but I emphasize that this is not necessary. The school has paid for their visa in advance. The total cost is 180 dollars and your daughter can pay at the office if there is financial difficulty please call me or send a note with your daughter the school will pay for the visa.

The school and the team are excited about our upcoming trip. We have a basketball camp coming up on;

June 29^th 1:30-5:00

June 30^th 9:00-4:30

July 2^nd 9:00-4:30

July 3^rd 9:00-4:30

Then there is a team China tour practice on;

July 7^th 12:00-3:30

July 9^th 3:30-6:00

These dates are of course after exams and will not interfere with their studies.
