Gabriel Adlawan talks about his experience

It was a great honor for me to be the assistant coach of the Junior Girls Basketball Team this year. I have never had the chance or experience in being a coach! It's wonderful !

As for the team, I would have to say that at the beginning, it was rough. They had to learn the rules of basic defense and offense. It was tough at first, teaching them the skills and rules of the game. Gradually, the mentality started to grow and the skills started to develop.

As the season began, we lost a couple of games because they weren't ready and they weren't use to the game. But surprisingly they finished the season 7th and earned a spot at the playoffs. Eventually we lost at semi-finals to the eventual champions. I was impressed that they went that far in the playoffs but more importantly the major improvement they made.

Lastly, I would just like to say that if they keep on practicing and working hard as they are now that they will have the absolute ability to win a championship this coming season and that is what we are looking forward to.

Gabriel Adlawan.
