Faith Asis Explains Her Experience on the Junior Team
At first, when Coach Bogart announced that there would be try outs for the girl’s basketball team, I wasn’t really excited at all. In fact I didn’t really want to join, but I tried out anyway. When I got picked out of many other girls in school to be on the team I wasn’t really thrilled but I decided to go along with it and see how it went. There were a lot of times when
I really wanted to quit because of all the practices but I always reminded myself
that this is a very good opportunity. Now,
I am glad that I didn’t quit. Although we have had some ups and downs we
have always learned from our mistakes. Our
basketball season was tough. We lost a lot of games but in the end we won fourth
place in the Hong Kong international School tournament. That was great for our team
because we were all rookies. Our basketball program is so awesome. Next month, our team is going to China. We are grateful for our school’s support. They’ve been a great help since the beginning. I don’t think we could have done it without them. Of
course, we couldn’t come this far without our incredible coach. Coach Bogart
never gave up on us. We have learnt a lot from him. He is not only a coach to
us, he is also a great friend. We confide in him and he confides in us too. If
you were studying in our school you’d think I was joking. There are not many
people who would say that a teacher is their friend. As far as I know, not many
people have anything to do with their teachers but Coach Bogart is different, he
understands us. That makes him the best coach ever! Lastly, I hope that there will be more girls who will try out for the next year’s team. If you don’t give it a try, you’re missing out! Thanks, |
